In recognition that world music tours are often inhibited by high start-up costs in the US, the gFTF awards grants in the range of $1,000 - $4,000 to offset budget shortfalls for upcoming tours that bring gF artists to at least one new market (city). These grants provide crucial funding directly to gF artists to perform in new markets and to develop new audiences in the United States. This additional support can be critical to their ongoing success following their participation at gF.
Since 2011, the Touring Fund has awarded $109,000 to 33 groups / 200+ individual artists. The program is currently on hold and seeking additional funders to make this work possible.
If your organization is interested in continuing this important work, please contact email@example.com for more information.
